At The White Oak Goldens, we work hard to raise puppies with the very best health and temperament. Everything else is secondary.
We take great joy in raising our puppies, using such clinical methods e.g. Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) as well as thoughtful socialization to common fear triggers. These practices have been proven to increase resilience, vigor & stability in both our companions & working dogs.
If you are looking for a wonderful cream golden retriever puppy to bring joy and love into your life, and home contact us to start the process today.

About Our Program
We knew when we decided to raise cream Golden Retrievers we wanted to do it ethically, and with excellence. In preparation & study we quickly learned that finding two nice golden retrievers and putting them together could not produce excellence, nor be ethical. We were fortunate enough to be mentored by an exceptional golden retriever breeder, and have been handed a wealth of knowledge and priceless hands on experience for years leading up to starting our own program.
We are proud to share that our puppies descend from working service and therapy lines, are compliant the highest standard of health testing in America, and . All Parent dogs are held to Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) Testing Standards, and never bred until all testing requirements are met. Each litter we carefully consider which pairing would be best for us, and the puppies we would produce. We have had wonderful outcomes with our Betty x Chomsky pairings!

Once our puppies are born, we begin performing Early Neurological Stimulation on just day 3. The benefits of ENS include:
1. Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate)
2. Stronger heart beats
3. Stronger adrenal glands
4. More tolerance to stress
5. Greater resistance to disease
"The U.S. Military in their canine program developed a method that still serves as a guide to what works. In an effort to improve the performance of dogs used for military purposes, a program called “Bio Sensor” was developed. Later, it became known to the public as the “Super Dog” Program. Based on years of research, the military learned that early neurological stimulation exercises could have important and lasting effects. Their studies confirmed that there are specific time periods early in life when neurological stimulation has optimum results. The first period involves a window of time that begins at the third day of life and lasts until the sixteenth day. It is believed that because this interval of time is a period of rapid neurological growth and development, and therefore is of great importance to the individual." Link: Click Here

At 5-6 weeks, we begin allowing puppies short spurts of outdoor time in our safe backyard enclosure. This is when the real fun begins! The puppies begin shaping, or conditioning to the crate as well as basic manners. We teach them to sit upon approach by rewarding with kibble from the opposite side of their enclosure as soon as they sit. They're incredibly bright, and always impress me at this stage!

At 7 weeks we continue working to set the foundation for potty training, puppy manners, and most importantly perform the PAT or Volhard Temperament Test. This provides us insight into each puppy's temperament/traits. Their "scores" are crucial to matching you, your family, your needs, and your lifestyle with your puppy!

At 8-12 weeks your puppy is ready to go home with you, and begins what's called the socialization period, often referred to as the fear stage. Remember, socialization does not mean make new friends with strange people & dogs all around town. During this window it is critical for your puppy to be introduced to diverse stimuli. This includes
-
their new home's smells, textures, and sounds
-
bag or blanket blowing in the wind
-
walking on a hill or stairs
-
the smell of your neighbor's cat
-
eating a quick treat in your parked car or in their crate with the doors open
-
playing with water
The goal of socialization is to acclimate (socialize) your puppy to the various sensory experiences of living as a domestic dog so they can operate with confidence, and live without fear of their environment. Having quick, safe, and positive interactions with new & unusual things is how we achieve this! So a controlled environment is important during this stage of your puppy's development.

A Note on Our Location
We are located in the beautiful NW Arkansas on our dream property with a pond, walking trails, and wild meadows.

Every litter we drive several puppies to Petaluma, CA for our puppy families in California, and those along our route. This is excellent socialization for your puppy to not only the car, but many other new experiences. It is a labor of love, and allows us to visit family in the area as well.
